Project Description
Heat waves are taking a toll for our common citizens, urban biodiversity is vanishing and Air Quality Index is deteriorating in our cities. We have raised a fund of 12 thousand USD and now we are planting shaded trees along roads, fruit orchards in parks and urban forests on degenerated landfills to recover the greenspace, habitat for wildlife in Rawalpindi Islamabad.
Outcomes
One of the major outcome ofthis project is that we have covered around 20 KMs of roads with shaded trees in Rawalpindi. 2 major landfills/dumping grounds which were a site of heap are now converted into lush green urban forests. The fruit and flowering species planted in city’s park are a habitat of endangered wild bees now.
