"We sometimes think the world's problems are so big that we can do little to help. On our own, we cannot end wars or wipe out injustice, but the cumulative impact of thousands of small acts of goodness can be bigger than we imagine."

What we do

The Commonwealth is a global family of 56 countries, home to 2.5 billion people, of which 60% are under the age of 30.

We put young Commonwealth leaders at the centre of everything we do. We provide their organisations with flexible funding, practical tools and support, and a vibrant network to help them transform their communities. This is across the areas of agriculture & food, education & employability, environment, health, and inclusion.

Although these young leaders are the most affected by present and future challenges and have solutions that work, they often struggle to access funding. Their collective potential is enormous. With your support, we can unlock it.

A legacy of service to others

The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust was established on 21st April 2018 in recognition of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s lifetime of service to the Commonwealth and her unwavering belief in young people and all they do to make the world a better place.

On her 21st birthday, Her Majesty dedicated her life to the service of others, inviting young people to join her to help make progress for all.

Flexible funding

Flexible funding enables young leaders and their organisations to invest where it will have the best effect. We then work closely with them to monitor performance regularly and focus on impact and results.

Our 2-year Youth Ventures Programme provides up to £20,000 per annum, alongside bespoke practical support and access to our global network of young leaders.

Practical tools and support

We work side by side with young leaders and their teams to identify key areas for organisational improvement.

Together we assess the ‘what’, ‘why’ and ‘how’. We follow this with bespoke training and practical advice to help young leaders build resilient systems and strengthen their organisations. This makes their organisations more sustainable and attractive to funders, and ultimately delivers more value for their communities.

Connection to a global network

We provide access to a global network of over 850 young leaders who are able to support each other and access insights and resources to further their work and impact.

Their work is contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across 56 Commonwealth countries.

Members are aged 18-35 and actively lead and effect positive social change.
